82 Queen
After receiving multiple recommendations about different places to try in Charleston, I decided to make a reservation at 82 Queen because it seemed like it was the epitome of Charleston’s southern food.
Bailey and I decided to begin our meal with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc that seemed to last forever. I learned that the best Sauvignon Blanc is from New Zealand — so I am keeping that note in my mind.
Another thing I learned was that Charleston is known for the fried green tomatoes, and I know exactly why because they were delicious that everywhere I tried.
The tomatoes here were on top of grits and had pimento cheese on top. They were delicious and all of the flavors were phenomenal.
For dinner, Bailey ordered the Barbecue Shrimp and Grits, which had a unique but good flavor.
I ordered the special — Sweet Pepper & Honey Glazed Swordfish. Wow, my meal was so amazing, and Bailey thought so too. The fish was on top of parmesan risotto and ratatouilles. All of the flavors went together seamlessly and the crust on the swordfish tasted great.
82 Queen was the perfect meal to kick off our trip, and it gave us entry into Charleston’s classic southern food. All of the flavors were delicious and we both loved all of the menu items that we ordered.
