Aba
Lately, I've been craving Mediterranean food, so I decided to visit Aba in Fulton Market—one of Chicago’s top spots for Mediterranean cuisine. With its lively atmosphere, Aba proved to be the perfect setting for a Saturday night dinner with friends, enhanced by a crisp glass of sauvignon blanc to kick off the evening.
We started our meal with the Crispy Short Rib Hummus, a must-try dish that features tender grilled onion, sherry, beef jus, and freshly baked pita. This hummus was a standout, with a delightful balance of sweet and savory flavors that complemented the creamy texture perfectly.
Next, we indulged in the House-Made Stracciatella served with grilled peaches, fresh basil, croutons, and a flavorful pesto. This dish came in as a close second favorite, with the perfectly ripe peaches stealing the show. The balance between the sweet fruit and the richness of the cheese made it a delicious bite.
For the main course, we shared the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, which were bursting with crab flavor and enhanced by hints of garlic, shallot, and lemon. The light, fresh seasoning allowed the crab to carry most of the flavor, making it a perfect addition to our Mediterranean-inspired meal.
We wrapped up with the Grilled Chicken Kebabs. The skewers, packed with tender chicken and roasted peppers, were brightened with a refreshing lemon flavor that extended to the accompanying rice. The light, citrusy taste made the dish a satisfying addition to our meal.
Aba offers an expansive menu of Mediterranean dishes, with each item showcasing fresh, flavorful ingredients. Whether you're craving hummus, seafood, or a savory kebab, you can’t go wrong with any choice. Aba's vibrant atmosphere and diverse menu make it a must-visit restaurant in Chicago's Fulton Market district.
