Ummo

Ummo is a new-ish restaurant in Chicago that a few friends and I decided to dine at for a Saturday night dinner. I had not heard much about Ummo before I ate there, and I was delightfully surprised with our meal.

We started with some cocktails - I had the Tequila Daisy with astral and saffron. I loved this drink because it was not the savory flavors that I usually go for, but it was not too sweet.

For my favorite part of the meal, we tried a few different appetizers to share with the table. We had the Octopus Carpaccio, Arancini, and Caesar Salad. All of these dishes had incredible flavor, and the Octopus Carpaccio was unbelievable.

We decided to split some pasta to try for the table and had the Egg Raviolo Carbonara and Tortellini. Both of these plates were remarkable, I loved the ravioli carbonara because of the egg and crispy prosciutto on top, and the tortellini with braised lamb had amazing flavor.

Ummo was an all around phenomenal meal. I loved the diversity of flavors on every dish, and the food almost always presented as artsy. The restaurant had a unique vibe to it, and it was super lively on Saturday night.
