Algamesis Bro's
Algamesis Bro’s ice cream shop is one of the cutest, old-style shops that I have seen.
Grace had been wanting to show me the ice cream shop since we started living together and we were finally able to make the trip to Oakley to go.
First of all, it is the cutest place ever. Everything is pink and white striped when you walk in, and the workers are even dressed in “old-timey” ice cream shop clothes. There was also candy everywhere that all looked absolutely delicious.
Aside from being blasted into the 60s — or whatever time period this was — everything looked and sounded amazing. There was homemade candy, fudge, and anything you can imagine. I felt like Charlie in the Chocolate Factory.
We had originally gone for ice cream, but the candy looked so good that I had to try some. I decided to try the double chocolate chip ice in a cone and Grace got the coffee ice cream. Both of these were so yummy and mine was super-rich.
Because I have a sweet tooth, I ordered a buckeye — of course — and a salted caramel chocolate-covered marshmallow. The marshmallow was so good, and those are always some of my favorite treats.
Algamesis Bro’s was the perfect Monday ice cream stop to finally try. I will definitely go again to try some more of the candy or more of the ice cream options.
