Arthur Mayne's Pharmacy
While Ireland may not be the first destination that comes to mind for its food scene, Cork quickly proved me wrong with its incredible dining options. Kicking off our Ireland adventure, our first stop was Arthur Mayne’s Pharmacy, a cozy tapas wine bar with a hidden cocktail lounge upstairs. This historic spot offers a unique mix of delicious small plates, a great wine selection, and expertly crafted cocktails—making it the perfect place to start our trip.
We began the evening with glasses of Sauvignon Blanc while waiting for a table. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making for a cozy dining experience.

For food, we opted for a selection of tapas-style appetizers, including Arancini, Pan con Tomate, and Garlic Prawns. Each dish delivered bold flavors—the prawns were rich and garlicky, the tomatoes tasted incredibly fresh, and the arancini was crispy on the outside with a gooey, cheesy center. These small plates paired perfectly with our wine, making for an ideal European-style dining experience.

After dinner, we made our way Upstairs, Arthur Mayne’s speakeasy-style cocktail bar, to explore their drink menu. The espresso martini stood out with its smooth, slightly sweet flavor, making it a great post-dinner pick-me-up. However, the real highlight was the spicy margarita, which we loved so much that we ordered it multiple times throughout our visit to Cork.

Arthur Mayne’s was the perfect first-night experience in Ireland, seamlessly blending great wine, delicious tapas, and a hidden cocktail bar all in one spot. Whether you're looking for a cozy dinner, a casual wine night, or expertly crafted cocktails, this spot is a must-visit in Cork.
