Avec River North

Avec in River North is a renowned restaurant in Chicago, famously featured on Season 2 of "The Bear." Eager to experience its celebrated cuisine, I decided to take my parents to dine at this spot. My evening began with the Side to Side cocktail, a refreshing mix of mezcal, Aperol, grapefruit Jarritos, habanero tincture, and lime.

For appetizers, we indulged in the focaccia with taleggio cheese, truffle oil, and fresh herbs. The focaccia was incredibly flavorful with a unique crispiness that made it stand out. We also enjoyed the Wood-Fired Calamari, which was bursting with flavor and had just the right amount of spice.

Moving on to the main dishes, we savored the Hummus with Short Rib and the Rigatoni with mushrooms and prosciutto. These dishes, while different, complemented each other perfectly. The freshness of the pasta dish was delightful, and the short rib hummus is an absolute must-try.

Avec truly lives up to its reputation. The diversity of the menu ensures there’s something for everyone, making it a great spot to take visitors. Every dish we tried was exceptional, solidifying Avec as a perfect dining destination in Chicago.
