Beacon Doughnuts

Beacon Doughnuts, a hidden gem in Lincoln Park, is famous for its mouthwatering pastries and its unique, tucked-away location in an alley. I finally stopped by Beacon Doughnuts over the weekend to indulge in their highly-praised sweet treats, and I can confidently say this bakery is worth every bit of the hype.

I couldn’t resist sampling a variety, so I ordered the Vanilla Bean Cronut, Blackberry Beignet, Cinnamon Coffee Cake Doughnut, and the Birthday Cake Doughnut. Each pastry had its own unique flavor and texture, but my final ranking is:

  1. Vanilla Bean Cronut – This cronut was perfectly flaky, and crispy, and had a rich vanilla flavor that made it stand out.

  2. Blackberry Beignet – The filling was fresh and flavorful, making it the second favorite.

  3. Cinnamon Coffee Cake Doughnut – The soft, spiced cake and crumbly topping gave this doughnut an incredible balance of flavor and texture.

  4. Birthday Cake Doughnut – A fun, classic flavor with just the right amount of sweetness to round out my selection.

A soft doughnut topped with a cinnamon crumble, offering incredible flavor and texture.

If you're on the lookout for a decadent morning treat in Chicago, Beacon Doughnuts is a must-visit. The bakery’s wide selection of doughnuts offers a diverse range of flavors, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
