Beatnik
For Saturday brunch, Lucy made reservations at Beatnik for us to begin our day.
We began with some cocktails, I ordered the Layover Spritz with Aperol, chilona passion fruit liqueur, yuzu sake, elderflower, cava, baijiu, and orange bitters. This drink was good, but I definitely need to stick with just drinking Aperol Spritzes because sometimes it gets too fruity and sweet.
Lucy ordered the El Guapo with tequila, Fresno pepper & mint infused agave, guava, lime, grapefruit bitters, and tajin. Hope ordered the Little Red Dress with mezcal, hibiscus & morta pepper honey, passion fruit, and lemon.
For my meal, I ordered the Cochinita Pibil Fried Rice which had Mexican-style rice, braised pork belly, fried egg, kimchi, edamame, pickled avocado salad, and sesame seeds. Hope ordered the Wagyu Breakfast Sandwich with wagyu, black truffle aioli, egg, cheese, and vinaigrette. Finally, Lucy had the Burrata and Avocado Toast!
Beatnik is a pretty spot right on the river and a great place for brunch. All of the food and drinks were pretty unique, so it was fun to try different flavors together.
