Cabra

For the final dinner on our Chicago trip, Lucy made us reservations at Cabra which might have been my favorite of all the dinners we had.

Cabra, Chicago, Illinois

First off, Cabra had such a great atmosphere on the rooftop with music and a bunch of people around. It was definitely nice to be in such a lively place for dinner.

We began our meal by ordering some cocktails, Lucy and I both ordered the I’m Your Huckleberry with tequila, huckleberry, cardamom, lime, and ginger ale. Hope ordered the Frozen Pisco Fever with pisco, vodka, guava, lime, and pineapple.

These cocktails definitely fit the vibrant color scheme of the restaurant and were pretty delicious.

One of the must-haves that Lucy recommended was the Goat Empanadas with aioli on the side. These were phenomenal with the texture of the meat and then the flakiness of the crust, it was so good that we ordered another serving.

Next, we had the Hot Chorizo & Queso Dip which you can never go wrong with ordering. The dip came dressed with pickled rhubarb, herby chimmi, sweet potato chips, and flatbread. We devoured this dip, and all of the flavors and toppings went together well.

We also ordered the Jalea Mixta with calamari, shrimp, plantain chips, and a garlic lime dressing. All of these flavors were incredible and went super deliciously together.

Finally, we finished off the meal with the Steak Saltado with saltado sauce, tomatoes, peppers, and onions. The flavor on the steak was amazing and these might have been some of the best potatoes I have had. I loved how crispy they were and the entire dish was phenomenal.

For dessert, we decided to order the espresso martini which was creamy and delicious. You can’t go wrong with finishing your meal with a delicious dessert drink.

Cabra was probably my favorite dinner that I had this time in Chicago. I loved all of the different flavors and foods that we were able to try. The atmosphere in the restaurant was super energetic, and the meal was the perfect last supper for my trip.
