Cabra

Cabra is a Chicago rooftop restaurant I love revisiting, offering a unique dining experience with vibrant Peruvian-inspired flavors and stunning views. Over the weekend, I returned to Cabra’s rooftop to savor its bold menu, starting with a refreshing, savory tequila cocktail—a perfect pairing for the dishes to come.

Savory tequila cocktail served in a glass with a garnish at Cabra rooftop in Chicago.

We kicked off with the Goat Empanadas and Hot Chorizo & Queso Dip. The goat empanadas offered a rich, tender filling encased in a flaky crust, while the queso dip brought layers of flavor with the spicy chorizo.

Crispy Goat Empanadas and a bowl of Hot Chorizo & Queso Dip, two flavorful appetizers at Cabra in Chicago.

For the main dishes, we shared the Shrimp Ceviche, Shrimp Tacu Tacu, and Steak Saltado. Each dish was a standout, with the shrimp ceviche bringing fresh, citrusy notes and the shrimp tacu tacu featuring crispy rice that added perfect texture to the savory shrimp. The Steak Saltado was exceptional—the meat was tender and flavorful, and the accompanying vegetables elevated the dish with vibrant Peruvian spices.

Cabra is a Chicago dining destination I always enjoy returning to for its dynamic rooftop atmosphere and remarkable food. The menu’s fresh ingredients and creative Peruvian-inspired flavors make it worth visiting time and again. If you're looking for rooftop dining with an unforgettable view and unique cuisine in Chicago, Cabra is a must-try.
