Culinary Dropout
I’m back in Scottsdale, and we started out the food journey with a bang at Culinary Dropout for brunch.
Although it was only 10:00 A.M. west coast time, the jalapeño margarita sounded delicious — and it was. It was perfectly smokey and had such a good spicy flavor to it. The margarita had tequila, ancho reyes verde, lime, jalapeño, and green cholula.
One thing that is unique and a cool concept here is that they have the option where you can order a beer and a shot comes with it. My brother loves getting these drinks and his favorite is the Safety Meeting which had a Lone Star Beer accompanied by dropout whiskey. Although I don’t associate much with whiskey, this was house-infused with cinnamon and was pretty good.
Since Jack and Mackenzie have been to Culinary Dropout a few times, they decided that we had to get the Soft Pretzel and Provolone Fondue. Wow, this pretzel and cheese were phenomenal and different from any other cheese dip I have tasted.
For the actual brunch, I asked the waitress what she recommended which was the Smokehouse Hash — BBQ pork, crispy potato, onion, poblano pepper, sunny side up egg, and a flour tortilla.
I loved this dish, although it was very heavy after having the cheese fondue, it was still the perfect breakfast.
Meanwhile, during the meal, I decided to order another drink which was Vitamin M with guava, orange, pineapple, and sparkling wine. I would compare this drink very similar to a mimosa — it was good, but not amazing.
All in all, Culinary Dropout was the perfect meal to kick off my vacation. I loved the drinks and the food that I had there, and I definitely would want to try the dinner menu as well. The entire restaurant had a great atmosphere which is perfect for any occasion.
