Darling Oyster Bar
One of the most recommended places in Charleston was the Darling Oyster Bar. I knew that I had to go because 1. I love oysters and 2. it was always crowded whenever we walked by, so I knew it would be good.
We ordered some Aperol Spritz's to start which were incredibly fresh and delicious.
I ordered a few oysters for myself because Bailey does not eat them. I tried three different types, all from different areas, and the South Carolina ones were my favorite.
One of the best parts of sitting at the bar at a restaurant is the free food and drinks you get. We ended up in the mix of a friend group meeting up and we made friends with them. I think we had a total of four Aperol Spritz’s each — which is a lot of Aperol.
The best part was that they ordered me a dozen oysters so that I could try all of the ones the restaurant had. My favorite was still the South Carolina oysters.
The second best part of the meal was the oyster shot that both Bailey and I had. I have always wanted to try an oyster shot, so this was a perfect time. This oyster shot was different from other ones I have seen before. It was delicious and tasted just like cocktail sauce on an oyster. Even Bailey liked it.
The Darling Oyster Bar is a must-go in Charleston. They have more options than just oysters, but we were going before dinner so we did not want to get more filling food. The environment and people were super welcoming and we had such a fun time. What was going to be just a drink and a few oysters turned into meeting some friends and getting to try so many oysters.
