Fillo Greek Bake Shop
Fillo is one of the greatest new additions to Over the Rhine because it has all different types of baked goods and savory food that are truly authentic to Greece.
I originally went to Fillo because I wanted to try all of the bakery treats. I ordered the Feta Stuffed Roll which was delicious and a great savory treat. I also tried the three different types of baklava — chocolate, regular, and another one that I can’t remember the name.
All of the baklava were phenomenal and I could not stop eating it — it was the best I had ever had.
I had heard that turmeric lattes are popular with Greek culture, so I decided to try one. Also known as a golden latte, the flavor was different but pretty good — it tasted like it was healthy.
Because I was looking around at everyone else’s food while I was eating mine, I saw some delicious fries that I needed to try. That being said, I went back to Fillo the next day with my roommate to try some of the non-bakery food.
I ordered the Kotopoulo Pita which had lemon and garlic marinated chicken, fontina cheese, tomato, and arugula. It also came with the delicious-looking fries which were amazing. The pita wrap was fantastic and the fries were just as good.
Fillo was so good that I went twice in one weekend, which says a lot. I loved trying the baked goods and then going back to get some of the savory food. It seems to be super authentic which gives it points in my mind because all of the flavors and food are a big part of their culture.
