Frankie's Sips and Savories
The cutest new cocktail and tapas bar opened downtown and I have been there two weeks in a row now. I love the atmosphere and there are so many different drink and food options to choose from.
The first time I went to Frankie’s was for Grace’s birthday and we got in just in time for the happy hour deal. I ordered the rosè and it was delicious. There were lots of different wines and bubbly to choose from, so it was perfect for anyone.
We ordered a cheese and meat board for the table and it was fantastic. They gave us fresh pita bread to use for the items on the board, and it was the first time I actually had enough bread. The different meats, cheeses, and toppings went together so well.
We also ordered some cocktails from the menu. I really enjoyed tasting all of these cocktails and it was great for them to all taste so different from each other.
- Spice Up Your Life: tequila, lime juice, jalapeños, agave, and orange juice
- Vixen: gin, pomegranate, lime juice, and rosemary
- How’s Your Love Life: vodka, blueberry puree, mint, lemon juice, and club soda
- Oh Boy: rye whiskey, brandy, sweet vermouth, and bitters
I even enjoyed tasting the Oh Boy which was surprising, but Frankie’s had a great assortment of flavors that all went together perfectly.
I did not even know that Frankie’s had dinner food, so Grace and I decided to go again this past week to try some dishes.
We started with some wine, of course. I ordered the sauvignon blanc and Grace got the rosè that we got the week prior.
We began the meal with marinated mussels and fresh pita. These are the first mussels I have had that came with no shell, and the sauce was phenomenal.
We ordered the Crispy Arancini next which had risotto, braised lamb, and whipped feta. This was one of the best lamb items I have had because it was super flavorful and the texture was great.
Before our final course of the meal, we ordered another glass of wine but just traded orders with each other. For the last part of our meal, we decided to try the Pomme Paillasson which was basically tater tots with a yummy aioli.
Frankie’s has become one of my new favorite places to go in Cincy. It’s the perfect place for pre-dinner drinks and a snack, or you can have dinner there as well. Both of my experiences have been amazing, and I definitely want to go back for more.
