Galit
Galit is a restaurant I have been wanting to try, so I took a group of friends there to dine on some delicious Mediterranean cuisine. We started with some of the signature cocktails, I ordered the Please, No Beet Puns with tequila, beet, fennel, and lime. This drink tasted refreshing, and I loved the natural flavors it contained.
To start, we ordered Bubbe's Brisket Hummus with smokey cinnamon, tomatoes, and braised carrots. We also had the Masabacha Hummus with chickpeas, tehina, and Aleppo. These dishes came with freshly baked pita bread and some sides such as pickled vegetables, labneh, sweet potato, and ezme.
The next course was some small plates, and we tried Falafel, Carrots with Bulgarian feta, Grape Leaves, and Halab with lamb. All of these items had unique spices which added to the flavor profile, and I loved the simplicity of the carrots with the complicated textures and flavors of the halab.
Now, for the main portion of the meal, we decided to try the Mushroom Schnitzel, Walleye, and Lamb Basteeya. All of these items were bursting with different flavors which was perfect for the main course of the meal. I loved the mushroom schnitzel because of the textures and flavors in the dish, and the walleye and lamb were delicious as well.
For dessert, we ordered Phyllo Pie and Olive Oil Cake. Both of these items were perfect flavors to finish this dining experience. I loved the texture of the phyllo pie, and the olive oil cake was phenomenal.
My experience at Galit was filled with incredible flavor and remarkable food items to choose from. I had some of the best hummus I have ever tasted, and I loved trying all of the Mediterranean sides that were given to us. I was able to try many menu items I was unfamiliar with which was a treat for the entire table.
