Gene & Georgetti
Gene & Georgetti is the perfect Italian food fix in Chicago with a very traditional feel in both the food and atmosphere.
Lucy had been wanting to try Gene & Georgetti for a while, and right before Christmas was the perfect time to try. We dined there in need of some good drinks and pasta which didn’t disappoint.
Lucy started the meal with Prosecco, and I began with some red wine. I usually don't go for red wine, but I figured it was time for a switch-up in the cold weather.
We ordered the Shrimp de Jonghe which had jumbo shrimp, breadcrumbs, and garlic sauce. This dish was a great starter because it was not too heavy to begin our pasta meal.
For dinner, I decided to try the Bucatini Carbonara which was phenomenal. I love the crispy pork bites in carbonara and this is always a delicious, classic pasta to order. Lucy ordered the Meat Ravioli with bolognese sauce.
Throughout our dinner, we both ordered some more drinks - both of us drinking Prosecco this time. I love the glass that it came in, and Prosecco always tastes refreshing to me.
Gene & Georgetti was the perfect stop for our Italian food cravings. I loved how many options there were on the menu, and the food we tried was incredible. The atmosphere in the restaurant was extremely busy, especially on a weeknight, which made for a great dinner spot.
The best Italian fix!
