Inkwell has been on my list of Chicago cocktail bars to try, and Friday night was the perfect excuse to check it out. Known for its creative craft cocktails and cozy ambiance, this spot did not disappoint.
We kicked off the night with the Rosa Infernal, a mix of Divino Mezcal, Aperol, hot honey, Fruitful Ginger Liqueur, strawberry-orange shrub, jalapeño, and lime. The sweetness was stronger than expected, but the smoky mezcal still gave the drink a rich, savory flavor.

To complement our drinks, we ordered the whipped ricotta and fig jam with sourdough. The classic combination of creamy ricotta, sweet fig jam, and crispy sourdough was a perfect balance of flavors—light yet satisfying alongside our flavorful cocktails.

Of course, we couldn’t leave without trying Inkwell’s martinis. I opted for a tequila martini with a lemon twist, while the rest of the table went for the classic dirty gin martini.

If you’re looking for a cocktail bar in Chicago with a diverse drink menu, a chic atmosphere, and great small bites, Inkwell is the spot for you. Whether you're into mezcal, martinis, or craft cocktails, there's something for every palate.
