Khora

Khora has been another restaurant that I pass by constantly, and I finally went in to try some of the food when my parents came to visit me. The main thing that drew me to Khora is the giant windows and clean decor inside — whenever I would pass by, I would always think Khora looks like a cool and aesthetic atmosphere.

I started my meal with a delicious Aperol Spritz.

There were many items on the menu that I had to Google because I either could not pronounce them, or I just had not heard of them before. One of those was in the Whipped Quark - I had never had quark before, but it was a delicious cheese with dukkah, pickled shallot, lemon, and sourdough.

This was phenomenal and the bread was super good. All of the different flavors together worked perfectly.

For our meals, I decided to order the Creste de Gallo pasta with oyster mushroom, frisee, and cured egg yolk. My mom ordered the salmon with Verlasso Salmon accompanied with marbled potatoes, cabbage, and pickled mustard seeds. My dad ordered the Gnudi pasta with braised chicken, asparagus, fava beans, walnuts, and pecorino.

All of our meals were delicious — I love anything with mushrooms, so mine was great, and the flavors in all of the dishes worked well together.

For a post-dinner cocktail, I had to try an espresso martini and this one was super creamy and strong.

My family cannot go a meal without trying dessert, so we decided to order the Flourless Chocolate Cake which was topped with torched meringue with a graham cracker crumble and ice cream. This was absolutely amazing and tasted like I was eating a s'more.

Khora exceeded my expectations because I had not heard anything about the restaurant before dining there. From the bread appetizer to the smores dessert, everything was delicious.
