La Cantina

My new favorite taco place is La Cantina. Wow, this place was absolutely delicious and definitely, a must-try in Cincinnati.


La Cantina had many different drink options — mainly tequila and mezcal based — so it was difficult to choose what to try. I decided to order the Avocado & Jalapeño Margarita which had tequila, orange liqueur, avocado, cilantro, jalapeño, lime, and agave. This was delicious and the avocado made the texture creamier than usual margaritas.

Grace ordered No. 13 which had tequila, orange liqueur, elderflower, cucumber, and lime.

We went a little out of the ordinary with our appetizer by ordering guacamole instead of queso. I am so happy we ordered the quac because the flavors were phenomenal with charred vegetables, coriander, and queso fresco on top.

Now, I had heard the tacos were delicious at La Cantina, so I was excited to try them for myself. Once again, the flavors and scents of the food were fantastic.


I ordered the Tijuanero Taco with NY Strip, avocado salsa, and pico de gallo, and also the Sweet Potato Taco which had queso fresco, crispy garlic, and salsa matcha. The sweet potato taco was delicious but super spicy, and I loved the NY Strip in the other taco.


Grace ordered the Baja Fish Taco with pickled red cabbage, mahi-mahi, and chili aioli. She also ordered the Suadero Taco which had brisket and salsa — the brisket was phenomenal and tasted amazing.

I had high expectations for La Cantina because even though it is relatively new, I had heard great things about the food. I loved the entire atmosphere and decorations of the restaurant, and there were phenomenal scents of food and spices throughout the restaurant. The food was delicious and I will definitely be going back to try some more items.
