La Scarola
La Scarola caught my attention after hearing that it was one of Frank Sinatra's favorite restaurants in Chicago. While I'm not certain if that is true, I still wanted to try La Scarola's authentic Italian dishes. Our evening began with the delicious task of selecting both white and red bottles of wine to accompany our meal.

For our appetizer, we decided to try the Fried Calamari and the Bruschetta. Both of these dishes were incredible, and I loved the calamari because it was lightly battered, and the bruschetta had a bunch of fresh flavors.

Next was the main dishes, where the table shared three pastas. We ordered the Rigatoni Chiverini with small meatballs in creamy vodka sauce, Linguine & Clams in a white sauce, and the Pasta Mandera with chicken strips, crumbled sausage, roasted garlic, chopped escarole, and green peas in creamy vodka sauce. I enjoyed the different flavors in all these dishes, but my favorite was the Pasta Mandera because the chicken was a delicious addition to the plate.
La Scarola proved to be the authentic Italian dining experience I expected with phenomenal food and the best atmosphere. From the mouthwatering calamari to the marvelous pasta dishes, all the menu items fulfilled my cravings.
