Le Colonial

Le Colonial in Chicago is a must-try destination for anyone interested in flavorful Vietnamese cuisine and a vibrant dining atmosphere. Known for its fusion of Vietnamese and French influences, Le Colonial serves dishes perfect for sharing.

We started with various appetizers, including Pan Seared Chicken Dumplings, Shrimp on Sugar Cane, and Sesame Beef Ravioli. Each dish offered unique flavors, though the dumplings emerged as a table favorite.

For our main courses, we enjoyed the Bahn Xao (Noodle Stir-Fry) with shrimp, rice noodles, and bean sprouts, as well as the Com Chien Dac Biet (Signature Fried Rice) featuring ginger-poached chicken, jasmine rice, broccoli, eggs, and scallions. The noodles stood out with their rich, peanut-infused sauce, adding amazing flavor to the dish.

We capped off the night with creamy espresso martinis, the perfect sweet finish to a savory meal.

A creamy espresso martini with a frothy top and coffee bean garnish, served as a dessert drink to end the meal.

Le Colonial’s lively atmosphere on a Tuesday night complemented the excellent food, proving why it’s a staple among Chicago locals and visitors alike. There were plenty more items on the menu that I wanted to try, so I can't wait to go back and try more flavors.
