Mindy's Bakery
Since moving to Chicago, I have heard many people rave about Mindy's Bakery, so I had to see what all the hype was about. I knew there would be a line out the door on a Sunday morning, but it was shocking how many people were waiting to get some of the bakery items. I waited for about 30 minutes and was pleasantly surprised that there were still so many items left to choose from.
My first order of business was to try the famous hot chocolate with marshmallow—a rich and velvety drink.
Since I waited for a while in line, I had to order all of the bakery items that caught my eye. I began with the Vodka Sauce Pesto & Mozzarella Bialy. This was an amazing, savory item to offset all the sweet bakery items I ordered.
Now, onto the other items I tried. I had the Hot Fudge Glazed Donut, Cookie Croissant, and Marble Coffee Cake. All of these had phenomenal flavors, but my favorite was the donut because of the super-rich chocolate. The cookie croissant was a delicious combination of food items together, and the coffee cake was dense and enveloped with the classic coffee cake taste.
Mindy's Bakery lived up to the high expectations I had. My favorite thing about the spot was that they were continually making bakery items throughout the day so that they didn't run. I loved all the options there were to choose from, and I was definitely satisfied with the goods I tried.
