Mon Ami Gabi

Chicago has many different restaurant week options which is exciting but also makes it hard to decide which places to try. A few of us decided to dine at Mon Ami Gabi in Lincoln Park, and we left incredibly full and loved the food we tried.

I started with a Smokey Paloma which was delicious, and I loved the Mezcal addition to a classic cocktail.

Fresh bread for the table was included in the restaurant week menu, and honestly, this might have been my favorite part of the meal. I loved the warm baguette, and the butter that accompanied it was amazing.

For the first course, I ordered the Frisee and Lardon Salad which had thick-cut bacon and a poached egg on a bed of greens. The rest of the table ordered the Melted Brie with spiced jam, walnuts, and mint, and also the French Onion Soup.

For the main course, I split the Steak & Frites and the Pot of Mussels. Both of these dishes were classically fantastic additions to the meal. One of the other plates to choose from was the Trout Almondine which was super mild and had delicious flavor.

Lastly, dessert was one of my all-time favorites to order - Profiteroles. Though I was so full, this dish was perfection. I also ordered an Espresso Martini.

Mon Ami Gabi had a phenomenal restaurant week menu that left our table completely satisfied and full from the meal. I loved the traditional French dishes, and the cocktails were fantastic as well.
