Nisos Mediterranean
My last dinner in Chicago was spent at a new restaurant in Fulton Market called Nisos. This was a delicious and chic Mediterranean restaurant with a super lively atmosphere.
We started with some drinks, an Aperol Spritz for me, bubbly for Lucy, and bourbon for Jacob. My spritz was made pretty great, and I loved how refreshing it tasted.
There were so many items on the menu to choose from that had all different sorts of flavors. We decided to begin with the Sea Bass Carpaccio with lemon gel, garlic blossoms, and a beetroot tapioca chip. I had never tried any sort of fish carpaccio, so I was excited to taste it and the flavors were strong and delicious.
Next on the menu was the Spot Prawns served with orzo, herbs, and herb oil. This was phenomenal and the presentation was great too. They showed us the prawns and then on a side table peeled them and mixed the items altogether.
For our main course, per Jacob’s request, we had the Lamb Shank served with vegetables and lamb jus. This lamb was amazing and once again, the presentation was great.
For dessert, we wanted to try Pavlova’s Cheesecake with white chocolate monte, strawberry sorbet, meringue, and raspberry powder. This was kind of a deconstructed cheesecake and was absolutely delicious. The raspberry flavors with the white chocolate went together beautifully.
Nisos gave the perfect dining experience with great food, presentation, and drinks. I loved the atmosphere and decorations in the restaurant, and it was overall a great place to share my last dinner for this Chicago trip.
