Otto's: Brunch Edition
It’s time to talk about Otto’s again, but this time it’s all about the brunch. Once again, I love the decorations at Otto’s because it is very artsy and old fashioned – it really sets the tone for the meal.
There were four of us at brunch and each of us ordered something different, and it all tasted fantastic. There are very few times when I go to a restaurant and I want to try every single item on the entrée portion of the menu and Otto’s brunch is one of them.
The one downfall is that they don’t make any coffee other than normal pot coffee. If you have been following along on my coffee journey, you know that I’m inching my way into the taste, but I’m nowhere near ready to just have coffee with creamer. I ordered a latte and it was politely declined.
The food made up for the lack of coffee drinks because, as I said before, everything sounded delicious and it all was. I decided to order the French Toast which was 16 Brick Challah, fresh berries, and whipped cream with a side of the potato cake.
The potato cake was recommended to me, thank you Kayla, and it was amazing. Picture a potato hash casserole in a little cupcake size.
Now, brunch is hard for me because I go back and forth on going sweet or savory. My friend ordered the Breakfast Casserole with potato, eggs, sausage, artichoke hearts, peppers, mushrooms, onions, cheese, and spinach – similar to a type of skillet breakfast.
Another ordered the Crab Hash – which is what I wanted to badly try – this had crab cakes, poaches eggs, crispy fried potatoes, and spicy sour cream on top.
The last order was the Pancakes with lemon and blueberry flavors topped with whipped cream.
As you can imagine from this meal, Otto’s is powered with amazing flavors of food put together to make delicious dishes. I did a little taste test of all the dishes we ordered and was not disappointed with any of them. I definitely recommend Otto’s for brunch if you are looking for a nicer setting. My friends and I were definitely a bit loud and for such a quiet and intimate setting.
