Pandan

Asian Fusion menus are my favorite to try because of the unique flavors in both food and drinks. I was so excited my sister got us a reservation at Pandan, a rooftop restaurant at the Viceroy in Chicago, especially with the incredible weather on Friday night.

We started with some delicious cocktails. I ordered the Flight School with Tanqueray No. Ten, mezcal unión el viejo, crème de violette, cocchi americano, and lemon. This cocktail was sweet and savory, and the presentation was impressive.

The menu at Pandan is limited to a few items, so we tried almost the entire menu. We started with the Nori Fries, Crispy Pork Belly Steamed Buns, Lobster Dumplings, and Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice. These items had phenomenal flavor—the dumplings were super buttery, the fries were perfect for munching, the crispy rice was a classic dish, and the steamed buns were our favorite with the best flavor.

Next, we ordered another round of steamed buns because we needed to have more. We also tried the Thai Fried Chicken and the Lamb Ribs. Both of these items were flavorful; the chicken was on the spicier side, and the lamb ribs had the best soy BBQ glaze.

Again, we had to order another serving of Lamb Ribs and we also tried the Bistek Tataki. The lamb was just as delicious as the first time, and the beef had an amazing spicy vinegar sauce on top.

Throughout the different courses, we enjoyed some refreshing glasses of sauvignon blanc while taking in the gorgeous view from the rooftop restaurant.

Pandan is a must-try this summer with its delicious and fresh menu items and beautiful view from the rooftop. I loved the entire menu, and the atmosphere was perfect for a Friday night.
