Pizzeria Portofino

Pizzeria Portofino is a must-stop on any Chicago food tour, offering delicious Italian dishes and stunning views of the Chicago River. It’s the perfect spot for a meal with friends, though reservations can be tough to get—so I took advantage of a Monday after work to visit with coworkers.

We started the meal with a refreshing Aperol Spritz, which paired perfectly with the pizza and pasta we were about to enjoy.

To start, we shared the Roasted Garlic Bread topped with parmesan garlic butter and rosemary. The flavors of this bread were out of this world and my favorite part of the meal.

For our main dishes, we decided to share a few items. We ordered two pizzas: the Fresca, which featured mozzarella, parmesan, arugula, Sicilian lemon, and prosciutto, and the Charred Pepperoni with pepperoni, mozzarella, peppers, and a drizzle of hot honey. Both pizzas complemented each other well—the Fresca was light and fresh, while the Charred Pepperoni had a bold, spicy flavor. We also couldn’t resist trying the classic Rigatoni Vodka for a pasta option, which did not disappoint.

Pizzeria Portofino is an excellent dining spot for any day of the week. The lively atmosphere, fresh ingredients, and perfect riverfront setting make it a standout. Whether you're craving pizza, pasta, or simply a great dining experience, this restaurant is a must-try in Chicago.

Hi, thanks for stopping by!

Not that this isn't obvious, but I am not a professional writer - I don't claim to be one either. Cut me some slack on my writing for a little bit. It will get better!
