Revel OTR Urban Winery

One of my favorite things to find is a good wine bar to drink at (obviously) that has a good vibe to it.

My roommate and I dined at Revel OTR Urban Winery – a place that I had never heard of before, but came up on Google when I searched “wine bar near me.” Originally, we were going to get some wine there and then grab dinner somewhere else, but the food menu was way too good to pass up.

We started with wine flights of the Revel Black Sheep wine that they make in-house – I tried the rosé, chardonnay, and the cabernet sauvignon. I loved the rosè and chardonnay, but I’m still getting used to beginning to like red wines. We ordered the goat cheese and hot honey bread to accompany the wine which was delicious – how could it not be?

After looking at the menu, we realized we had to try the goat cheese, mushroom, truffle, and arugula flatbread – we realized that we were just going to end up staying there for a while because there were so many things we wanted to try. It turns out that the waiter gave us the wrong flatbread (we didn't even know). We ended up eating the prosciutto and blue cheese flatbread which was amazing. Once we figured out we had the wrong food, we ordered the truffle flatbread because it sounded too good to pass up. I’m happy we ordered the second because it was so delectable and had every flavor that I love.

I ordered a glass of the rosé because it was my favorite from the flight I had, and we enjoyed the music and atmosphere of the restaurant while we finished our food.

Our waiter was the best and he “topped off” my roommate’s wine flight because he didn't want her to eat the flatbread without some wine. Later he came back and topped off my wine as well so that I wouldn't have “wine envy."

All in all, I will be making more trips to this restaurant because the food, drinks, service, and atmosphere was unbeatable. I’m happy that we were able to try a place we hadn’t even heard of before and it was as good as it was. This was the perfect place to spend my Saturday night.
