Royce

A new restaurant opened downtown, so I knew I had to try it as soon as possible. I stopped into Royce on Thursday for another solo dinner, and my experience was excellent with both the food and the atmosphere.

I started with one of the signature cocktails the Dreyfus Affair with tequila, sour mix, creme de cassis, sage, and black Himilayan salt. This was a yummy take on a margarita.

I ordered the Littleneck Clams which came with a salsa verde which were delicious. I don’t think I had ever tried a clams dish before, so it was nice to finally try it. They were also cold which surprised me, but the temperature went well with the salsa.

Per the waiter's recommendation, for my main course, I ordered the Quark Boulette with grilled corn, mushrooms, pecorino, and lemon. This dish was phenomenal and the best way I can describe it is it was similar to a dumpling with cheese in it. All of the flavors were delicious and I would definitely order again.

I was craving an Aperol Spritz, and I’m happy I was because I found the best spritz that I have tried in Cincinnati.

I wasn’t hungry but decided to order some dessert just for the heck of it. I tried the opera cream cake which was delicious. There were some coffee/espresso flavors added which were a great addition.

I am so happy I went to Royce to try all of the flavors it offered. I definitely want to try it again, and all of the dished I tried had tons of flavor and were great. Royce also has a brunch that I can only imagine is phenomenal.
