SOL Mexican Cocina

Because my mom was not able to come on the trip to Scottsdale, she has been finding restaurants that chefs she had seen on Chopped own or work at. We struck out at getting to a few of her recommendations, but we finally got in to SOL Mexican Cocina.

We began the meal with a margarita for me and some beer for Jack and dad along with chips and salsa. We ordered the chorizo and mushroom queso as an appetizer, which was delicious and had lots of flavors.

For the main meal, my dad and Jack split a quesadilla which they absolutely loved and are still raving about. It had shrimp inside of it and was topped with mango salsa. I ordered the Spanish octopus, which I didn't love. I was already full of chips, salsa, and queso though, so I was still satisfied with my meal.

Everything about the dinner experience was great except for my meal, so if I went back I would definitely try the tacos or quesadilla. I went a bit too adventurous for my own liking, but I’m happy I tried something new.

My dad said, and I quote, “This is the best Mexican restaurant that I have been to in Scottsdale.”
