STK Steakhouse
We are beginning the Scottsdale edition of City Spritz and after spending only a half of a day here, I couldn't be more excited. Beginning with our first dinner at STK Steakhouse – my food expectations are through the roof.
Starting with some fancy cocktails – I got the watermelon, tequila, and jalapeño drink and Mackenzie ordered the cucumber, vodka drink. Mine was a version of a spicy margarita where hers was a refreshing cocktail. Both of these were delicious, and we ordered a tasty, summery rum drink too.
For an appetizer, we decided to order the west coast oysters and the pickled jalapeño shrimp. All I can say is wow. The oysters came with all the sauces to doll them up before eating which was amazing. The shrimp was probably the biggest I had ever seen and were absolutely delicious with the jalapeños. The waitress also brought some homemade garlic bread, which sounds exactly as good as it tasted.
Usually, I would be ordering a steak at a steakhouse but it was a Friday in Lent, so I opted for the Miso Glazed Chilean Sea Bass. This was the best flavor I have ever had in seafood – I love the sweetness of the glaze that mixed with the shallots and Thai basil flavors. For a side, we did order the Brussel sprouts with maple glaze and bacon – which yes, I know I did end up eating meat on accident. We also tried the sweet corn pudding which originally we said as a joke, but it was sweet and savory to our surprise.
I also had to cheat and try the steak that my brother and dad got and it was so delicious that when I go back to this restaurant I will be getting one.
Of course, no one was hungry for dessert, but I pulled the trigger when I saw the warm chocolate chip cookie and my dad saw the cheesecake. A very unnecessary, but great choice for our taste buds to have these desserts. I enjoyed every single bit of the warm cookie.
STK is one of the best dining experiences that I have ever had. Of course, it helped that it was the beginning of my vacation with my family in Scottsdale, but everything was perfect there. I will warn you that this was probably the most expensive dinner I have had, but if you are celebrating a special occasion or anything, it’s a place to try. Our waitress was phenomenal, the food and drinks were delicious, and the ambiance of the outdoor area was perfect.
