Sugar
I absolutely love walking into a bakery and not being able to choose what I want to try. Sugar was no joke when it comes to chocolate – I wanted to take home everything that I set my eyes on.
I spotted Sugar a few weeks ago and have had it on the top of my list after window shopping because of the many different cookies and desserts to choose from.
When I finally decided to try the bakery, I wandered to the window front and took recommendations from the woman who was taking orders. Although it was almost impossible to pick, I decided on the Nutella stuffed cookie, jumbo birthday sammie, and the ‘Big Az’ chocolate chip cookie. Just a ~light~ trio of desserts that I shared with my roommate for Valentine’s Day.
All of these cookies were extraordinary – I loved every single bite of each of them and I ate them until I felt sick. The Nutella stuffed cookie was basically what it sounds like, an amazing chocolate chip cookie with a big chunk of Nutella in it. The jumbo birthday sammie was two chocolate chip cookies with vanilla buttercream and sprinkles in the middle – YUM. Lastly, my favorite was the Big Az cookie that was heavenly. I wish I would have taken a better picture of the cookie because it was huge.
It was basically a giant chocolate chip cookie that was cookie medium rare, and it tasted amazing.
One of my favorite things about bakeries is that they are usually locally owned and you get to meet the people who started the business and read or hear their story. It’s so admirable to see someone’s hobby become their career and a successful one at that. I love being able to explore Cincinnati and try different places that have begun from the ground up. I will definitely be going back to Sugar to try more of the sweet treats.
