Sunda

Sunda in River North became my next stop to savor its incredible Asian-inspired cuisine. Known for its inventive flavors and great ambiance, Sunda offered an amazing dining experience filled with bold dishes and fresh ingredients.


Starting my meal, I had two of my all-time favorite dishes: Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and Steamed Pork Belly Buns. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice dish perfectly balanced textures and flavors, with the crispiness of the rice contrasting with the rich, spicy tuna.

The Steamed Pork Belly Buns were my favorite of the night! The pork belly was cooked to perfection, bursting with flavor. The fluffy buns and crunchy vegetables added the perfect balance to each bite.

For my main course, I opted for the Rainbow Roll, featuring crab, tuna, salmon, escolar, yellowtail, avocado, asparagus, and sesame. The roll was incredibly fresh, showcasing the natural flavors of its ingredients without overpowering sauces.

While Sunda has a great sushi selection, I found the small plates and appetizers to be the true stars of the menu. The Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and Pork Belly Buns stole the show with their innovative flavors.


I’ll definitely return to Sunda, but next time, I plan to bring friends so we can try even more of the menu. With its vibrant atmosphere and creative dishes, Sunda is the perfect spot for any occasion—whether dining solo or with a group.
