The Biltmore

This obviously isn’t an unpopular opinion, but The Biltmore Estate in Asheville was such an incredible experience. Everything about the house and the family was larger than life and it was amazing to catch a glimpse of what their everyday life was like.

We got to the grounds early in the morning and spent the entire day there. I was constantly in awe of everything I saw whether it be the spring flowers or the giant fireplaces inside the house.

We grabbed some coffee and explored the estate grounds before it was our time for the tour. All of the architecture and sculptures were amazing and something that I could look at for hours. We decided to walk through the gardens which were beautiful. All of the spring flowers were blooming and it was nice just to sit on a bench in the garden and talk.

We continued to walk around the outside until we could begin our house tour. Wow – this house is absolutely phenomenal. Every room was like walking into a different country. All of the rooms were extravagant and contained much detailed work.

My favorite room in the house was the library. There were thousands of books and even a balcony to fit more books. It reminds me of Beauty and the Beast when I see a library like that – so amazing.

The dining rooms, bedrooms, and even hallways were so beautiful and there was always more to look at. I loved all of the different patterns and colors inside the house decorations; it made it hard to decided where to even look.

Once we finished walking through the house, we decided to go through the gift shops and then head to the winery.

One thing we weren’t prepared for was that the estate grounds were miles long, so we would have to drive to the winery when we didn't have a car. It was an entire experience to get an Uber to the winery, but we finally made it and were able to try five of the wines.

1. Biltmore Estate Rosè Wine

2. Century Sweet Red

3. Biltmore Estate Revant White Wine

4. Limited Release Chardonnay

5. Limited Release Dry Riesling

My favorite was the rosè and the sweet red wine – both of them were so delicious and I bought the bottles of them.

The Biltmore was such an amazing experience and is a definite must-do if you visit Asheville. I loved spending the day there and seeing all of the history of the area. There was poor planning on my part for wearing heels the entire day, but the look was worth it. Walking shoes would have been needed because the area is huge and there’s tons of walking involved. I would go to The Biltmore plenty more times because of how beautiful it was.
