The Market Place
After mentioning to a few people about visiting Asheville, the food and drink recommendations began flowing in. One of the restaurants that a coworker of mine recommended was The Market Place.

We had late reservations because of the long drive to Asheville, so we got there at around 9 p.m., which hopefully explains the restaurant's odd atmosphere. We started with some wine, and I tasted one of my favorite rosè wines ever. We also ordered kale fritters with goat cheese for a so-so appetizer.
For reference, it was a Reference Point Dry Rosè from Oregon.

For the main course, I ordered the scallops and pork belly and Bailey ordered the seared trout. The scallops that I received were huge, delicious, and perfectly cooked. There were also tasteful vegetables that came with it as well.

After dinner I ordered a cocktail and Bailey got a glass of the yummy rosè.
Overall, the atmosphere in the restaurant was definitely off. If I were to dine at The Market Place again I would sit outside because of the music and lights. It’s an expensive farm-to-table restaurant that doesn't have too many food options, but I did love the scallops that I ordered and I found a new rosè that I love.
