The Queen's Bakery
I found out about The Queen’s Bakery via an article that was noting places to go to support Cincinnati’s Asian Food Week. We all know that I have this newfound love for milk tea, so I had to make the drive and try all of the sweets.
The only downfall of the bakery is that it’s pretty far from downtown, but it was worth the drive to try the unique baked goods and milk tea.
It was hard to decide exactly what to try because there were so many different items on display. I decided to go with the egg tart – mainly because it was in the “must try” section – vanilla cream puffs, and the chocolate and cream swirl.
I tried the egg tart first because I was intrigued by its name and curious about what it would actually taste like. Surprisingly, it tasted like a flaky pastry with custard on top. It was super good and the texture was great.
The vanilla puffs were exactly as they sound – a pastry with vanilla cream. The pastry was super spongy and it was really good. I liked how it was a familiar concept, but the cake was different than any “puffs” I have tried before.
Lastly, the chocolate and cream swirl was delicious. The chocolate cake on the outside was light and spongy and the cream tasted a bit like chocolate pudding.
Of course, I could not leave without trying the milk tea. I decided to go with the Original Queen’s Bubble Milk tea. I was surprised with how milky it tasted, but it was still delicious.
I was happy to make the drive out to Queen’s Bakery because I was able to try a bunch of different items on the menu. Everything looked delicious, and it was definitely hard to choose what to try.
