Trivoli Tavern
Walking into Trivoli was such a cool experience because it was all normal and quiet behind the hostess stand and then when you walk into the main dining area it was immediate music and a lively room full of people.
We got there just to catch happy hour, and Lucy and I ordered the ’Tini Espresso Martinis. These were tiny espresso martinis and were the perfect size to start our dinner.
I loved that the drink menu had mocktails for my mom to try made with Ritual "tequila”.
I had to order the Skillet Cornbread when I saw it on the menu and it was phenomenal. The bread was so moist and it came with butter and honey to spread on top which was an amazing addition of flavor.
It was the beginning of Chicago Restaurant Week, so we all decided to order from the three-course menu. I ordered the Baby Artichoke Gratin which was basically an artichoke dip. Lucy ordered the Coconut Shrimp that came with a great orange-chili sauce, and my mom ordered the House Salad with salami, shaved Parmesan, olives, and red wine vinaigrette.
We didn’t know the portions were going to be so big, but the food was still delicious.
For our main meal, Lucy and I both ordered the Vodka Rigatoni which had such incredible flavor. I was already so full, but it was hard to stop eating the delicious pasta. My mom ordered the Fried Chicken which came with cole slaw and fantastic whipped potatoes.
We couldn’t eat anymore, but with the restaurant week deal, we still had dessert left. We all decided to order the Strawberries & Cream with strawberry, vanilla whipped cream, and meringues.
Trivoli Tavern was a delicious stop to eat dinner in Chicago. I loved all of the different types of drink choices they had and the restaurant week menu was a great way to try a bunch of different food. I loved the Vodka Rigatoni and the Cornbread was to die for.
