Trivoli Tavern
Trivoli Tavern is a well-loved Chicago staple, so when my family visited over the long weekend, it was the perfect opportunity for Lucy and me to take them there. I was particularly excited to return to Trivoli, as it had been a few years since my last visit.
We kicked off the meal with cocktails for the table, and Lucy and I shared a bottle of crisp prosecco, setting the stage for a delicious dining experience.
For appetizers, we ordered a delightful mix of oysters, pigs in a blanket, and crab rangoon. The combination of flavors was intriguing, offering a unique variety of tastes that we all enjoyed.
For the main course, Lucy and I shared a King Crab California Roll and the Vodka Rigatoni. The sushi roll's fresh flavors beautifully balanced the rich and creamy pasta, making for a surprisingly harmonious pairing.
The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the desserts. I had heard rave reviews about the Sticky Date Cake, but it still exceeded my expectations with its fantastic, sweet flavor, perfectly complemented by a scoop of ice cream. We also indulged in the Flourless Molten Lava Cake, which was incredibly rich and one of the best lava cakes I’ve ever tasted.
Trivoli Tavern consistently lives up to its high expectations, making it the ideal spot to take visitors. The diverse menu and unbeatable atmosphere ensure there’s something for everyone. After each visit, I’m reminded of why this Chicago gem remains one of my favorite dining destinations.
