Velvet Taco

Starting off my food tour in Chicago, we all went to Velvet Taco because Jacob has talked about how delicious it is.

We ordered some drinks, margaritas for Lucy and me, and a beer for Jacob. The margarita was great and not too sweet.

For our taco selections, I ordered the falafel with tahini sauce, arugula, tomato, cucumber, red onion, and cilantro on a lettuce wrap. I also ordered Korean Fried Rice with egg fried rice, Korean pork, red chili aioli, pickled red onion, jalapeños, pineapple, and cilantro.

Both of these tacos were exploding with flavor and I loved how unique the combinations were. I loved the Korean fried rice the best because of all of the flavors inside.

I don’t quite remember all of the ones that Jacob and Lucy ordered as well, but there were the Shrimp and Grits, Grilled Flank Steak, Slow Roasted Brisket, and others.

We also ordered (not pictured) some queso and chips to go with the tacos as well.

Velvet Taco is the perfect quick dinner or late-night snack. It was incredibly difficult to choose which tacos to try because so many of them looked and sounded delicious. I love the uniqueness of the items in the tacos, and I definitely want to go back and try some more.
